Whistle Blower Policy

Datafusion Systems's products are licensed, sold, and used by official governmental agencies for the detection and prevention of criminality, including terrorism. The deployment and use of systems such as ours is a normal part of the evidence gathering process for law enforcement agencies and is subject to judicial oversight via the issuance of warrants.

Policies

Our solutions aim at supporting the rule of law and democratic stability. Yet, we are aware of the risk of them being misused and diverted from the objective they have been designed for. While it is by essence difficult to control their use from end-to-end, with hindsight and experience, we have endeavoured as much as possible to minimise the risk of diversion and have adopted the following policies:

  • An analysis of the human rights situation in specific countries that could raise red flags, conducted in collaboration with a committee of experts. This study encompasses the overall human rights situation in the country and analyses the domestic legal frameworks of said countries.
  • Contractual obligations requiring our customers to commit, both for themselves and for the end-users, to the protection and promotion of human rights and to use our solutions exclusively to support law enforcement, counterterrorism, and police activities. To the extent we can, we thus contractually bind our clients to use our solutions in compliance with all applicable laws, including human rights laws.
  • Full compliance with applicable export control requirements, seeking and obtaining licenses from the relevant government authorities before selling products subject to export control regulations.
  • The provision of a comprehensive training programme for all employees, focusing on ethics, anti-bribery and compliance aspects, and which is being enhanced to include human rights obligations under international standards.
  • A new complaint mechanism is currently being developed that will allow concerned stakeholders to bring any human rights concerns to the attention of Datafusion’s top leadership. Stakeholders will thus be able to file anonymous reports via the company’s website.

Going forward, Datafusion Systems is incorporating additional measures into its due diligence programme to ensure the strongest protection of human rights
